Whitney Kreiter, LCSW
Whitney Kreiter began her counseling career by obtaining her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago where she specialized in working with children and families. After receiving her degree, Whitney gained experience providing case management and clinical treatment services in both residential and community based settings.
Whitney believes that therapy is a collaborative process between the guest and therapist. Whitney uses a relationship-based approach to support her guests in achieving their goals. She believes that guests are the experts in their own lives and experiences. It is a privilege for her as the therapist to support and challenge them to make the change they wish to see.
Whitney has experience providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy services to children and adults. Her ideal guests are people who are open and motivated towards personal growth, whatever that might mean for them. That includes little ones from newborns and toddlers to young children and their parents.
She feels confident about supporting people through stressful relationships, life changes and transitions. She has extensive experience working with parents who are experiencing the growth and development of their children and the challenges that arise in early childhood. She is known for her fearlessness in using child-friendly interventions to support her young guests. Parents find her very supportive, as well.
Whitney aims to create a safe space for guests to share their true thoughts and feelings in a completely non-judgmental, unbiased environment. Whitney strives to help guests make sense of their experiences, increase their self-confidence and promote them towards pursuing the life they want to live.
Outside of the office, you can find Whitney enjoying a good book, partaking in a dance class, exploring new restaurants, or simply relaxing with friends and family. Whitney is currently accepting new gusts at our Wicker Park location.
