Shanequia Berry, LCSW
Shanequia Berry is a licensed social worker who earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Those who know her best would describe her as funny, determined, ambitious, motivating, helpful, strong, and outgoing. Ultimately, she believes that everyone can use a listening ear to help them process issues. She understands the difficulty of “seeing the light at the end of the tunnel” while dealing with issues, and feels that therapists can provide an unbiased, outside perspective to help guests “see the light.”
Previously, Shanequia gained valuable experience working with families and those involved within the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). As a therapist at Willis CC, she is looking forward to working with children, adolescents, families, and partners. The treatment modalities she incorporates most often include Strength-Based Therapy, Harm Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Task Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness Theory.
In her free time, Shanequia loves traveling, being adventurous, trying new recipes and foods, and binge-watching her favorite shows on Netflix. She also loves shopping and making people laugh. She was born and raised on the south side of Chicago—loving every moment of it—and comes from a family of therapists, social workers, and teachers who’ve all worked to serve the Chicago community. Her ideal time off work would be spent relaxing on the beach of any warm and beautiful island.
Shanequia is currently accepting new guests via telehealth.
