Gabriel Alcantara, LCSW
Gabe Alcantara is a licensed clinical social worker who earned his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Northeastern Illinois University and his Masters in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. Those who know Gabe best would describe him as genuine, charismatic, and empathetic.
Whether it’s a guest’s first-time seeking therapy, or someone looking for continued care, Gabe focuses on each individual’s needs and works towards developing a therapeutic relationship that helps them meet their goals.
Gabe draws upon an eclectic, solution-focused approach to therapy and applies treatment models best suited for each guest, with the goal to provide the necessary skills needed for long-term success. His goal is to always ensure that his guests feel seen and heard, and he often incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. Currently, his focus is on working with individuals with depression, anxiety, mood stuff, stress, career shifts, relationship uncertainties, and just those who get stuck in life and are needing some support in getting unstuck to their next level of living their fullest potential.
In his free time, Gabe is likely to be found reading a book or re-watching Grey’s Anatomy alongside his pet, Stitch. Gabe also loves traveling and thinks that if he wasn’t a therapist, he could see himself as a chef or a heart surgeon.
Gabe is currently accepting new guests via telehealth and at our Wicker Park studio.
