Beth Wrobel, LCPC
Beth is a licensed clinical professional counselor who received her master’s degree in Community Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University and is currently working on her master’s in Couples and Family Counseling. What most impacted her decision to become a therapist was the fact that people always said that she was a great listener, and they felt much better after talking with her.
Before joining up with our team, Beth gained experience in the world of higher education. At Willis CC, she looks forward to working with individuals, couples, and families working through family, work, parenting, and relationship issues. She’s also excited to work with young guests going through developmental transitions and exploring their identities, and anyone dealing with issues related to gender, depression, anxiety, or cultural adjustment.
Beth’s ideal guest is someone on the threshold of change who’s ready to move forward. She believes in collaborating with guests to help them identify and meet their goals, and she strives to create a supportive atmosphere where they feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed. Being a parent, a spouse, the mom of a transgender daughter, and a person who’s gone through loss—as well as a caring, non-judgmental human—guests find her wealth of experience refreshing.
Born and raised in Oregon, Beth’s love of the natural world has inspired her to find the hidden gems of nature around Chicago and the Midwest. Outside of the studio, she enjoys walking her Pekingese with her husband, hanging out with friends, exercising, eating ethnic foods, and hiking. She also loves public radio, listening to podcasts, and reading books.
“The obstacle is the way. Take one step at a time. Keep your chin up.”
